Malabar’s New Mega Factory to Produce 4.7 Tonnes of Gold Jewellery Annually

In a major boost to global gold jewellery manufacturing, Malabar Gold & Diamonds has inaugurated its largest and most advanced production facility to date, strategically located in Hyderabad, Telangana. This landmark project is set to produce over 4.7 tonnes of gold jewellery annually, marking a significant leap in the company’s manufacturing capabilities.

Spanning an impressive 345,000 square feet, the new facility is not only the largest in Malabar’s global network of 14 manufacturing hubs but also houses a cutting-edge gold refinery with an annual processing capacity of 78 tonnes. In addition to gold, the factory will produce up to 180,000 carats of diamond jewellery per year, further diversifying Malabar’s luxury product range.

Built at a cost of USD $116 million, the factory brings together a skilled workforce of more than 2,750 artisans from 18 Indian states, reflecting the brand’s commitment to preserving traditional craftsmanship while embracing innovation and scale.

“This state-of-the-art facility represents a strategic leap toward positioning India as a global hub for fine craftsmanship and design excellence,” said M. P. Ahammed, Chairman of the Malabar Group.

With over 400 retail outlets worldwide and an annual turnover of $7.5 billion, Malabar Gold & Diamonds continues to consolidate its position as one of the largest jewellery retailers in the world. The company’s total annual production capacity now exceeds 40.68 tonnes of gold jewellery and 361,000 carats of diamond jewellery, a testament to its rapid growth and global ambition.
